I believe if you truly care about something you need to be willing to step up to contribute. I care about District 8 and recognize the important role the City of Atlanta plays in our lives. It is an honor to represent the constituents of District 8, and I enjoy working with them to continue to move our community forward.
I am supported in my work by two City Hall veterans: Katie Howard and Jim Elgar. I am the third council member Katie has trained, and Jim previously worked for the Council President. They are incredibly knowledgable and do a tremendous job for District 8.
I am also supported as a Council member by my family - my wife, Linda, who is the Chief Administrative Officer at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and an avid triathlete, my son Grant, who is a graduate of Westminster and currently a student at the University of Virginia, and our beloved labradoodle Lily Belle.
In 2003, I founded the Chastain Park Conservancy while working as vice president of compensation and benefits for then-80,000 employee Cox Enterprises, Inc. As a 14-year HR executive at Cox, I understand that the city’s success rests on the shoulders of its thousands of employees. I am now the chief financial officer for Wahoo Fitness, an Atlanta-based tech-fitness company. As chief financial officer of Wahoo, I have developed an entrepreneurial business perspective, which I will bring to council.
Those credentials are why Council President Felicia Moore appointed me chair of the Utilities Committee, which oversees the Departments of Watershed Management and Public Works. From ensuring clean and
abundant water to accurate and timely bills, this committee is critical to the health and well-being of Atlanta and the nearby communities that use its water.
I also serve on council’s Public Safety/Legal Administration Committee (PSLA), which recommends on matters including Department of Police Services, Department of Fire, Department of Corrections, Department of Law, Office of Emergency Management Services and City Courts.
And I am a member of council’s Finance/Executive Committee, which involves itself with the city’s budget, its taxing ordinances and an array of administrative duties. It is an honor to represent the constituents of District 8 and I look forward to working with them to continue to move our
community forward. You can reach me and my team at or by calling our office, (404) 330-6051.
